Frequent questions
Can you move fuels and other ADR dangerous goods?
Yes. Fuels, most solvents and many additives are ADR Class 3 flammable liquids. We assign ADR-trained drivers and correctly plated, equipped vehicles, and we prepare the ADR transport document for each consignment. Tell us the UN number and packing group, or the product name, and we confirm the equipment and route.
Which petroleum products do you handle?
Crude, refined fuels (petrol, diesel, gasoil, jet, marine fuels), heavy fuel oil and bitumen, base oils and lubricants, additives and chemicals, and drummed or packaged petroleum products. Each product family travels in dedicated or certified-clean equipment so grades are not mixed.
Where do you operate?
Our base is Rīga, with tanker berths, storage and rail sidings at the Freeport of Riga, Ventspils and Liepāja. From there we cover the EU by ADR road haulage and rail, the Baltic and North Sea by short-sea shipping, and the international tanker lanes by chartered or liner tonnage.
How do I follow a consignment in transit?
Every booking carries a tracking reference. Your representative sends status updates at each milestone: loaded at terminal, border or port crossing, arrival, discharge. You can also request a position at any time by email.
What do you need from me to quote?
Product name and UN number (if classified), quantity, packaging (bulk, ISO tank, drums, IBCs), collection and delivery points, the required delivery window, and the Incoterm if it is an international sale. With those six items we return a written, itemised quotation.
ISO tank container or road tanker: which should I use?
A road tanker is usually the right choice for domestic or near-EU deliveries from a terminal to a depot, especially when several grades travel in one compartmented vehicle. An ISO tank suits multimodal or long-distance moves, because the same tank travels by road, rail and sea without transferring the product. We recommend the equipment once we see the route.
Can you store product before it is sold?
Yes. Through partner facilities at the Latvian ports we arrange tank storage for bulk product and racked storage for drums and IBCs. Product can be held under customs or excise suspension (bonded) or cleared and stored duty-paid, and released to road, rail or vessel on your written order.
Who prepares the customs and transport documents?
We do. For road we issue the CMR and the ADR transport document. For non-Union goods we lodge the T1 transit and the customs declaration (SAD). For excise goods moving under duty suspension inside the EU we raise the electronic administrative document (e-AD) through EMCS. You receive copies before departure.
How is my cargo insured, and who is liable in transit?
Carrier liability follows the convention for each mode: CMR for road, the applicable bill-of-lading terms for sea, and CIM or SMGS for rail. Those limits are per kilogram and may be below the product value. On request we arrange all-risk cargo insurance for the full invoice value and issue the certificate before the product moves.
